At Mr Gillman Tuition, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their starting point, learning needs, or previous educational experience.
As our organisation continues to grow across North Somerset, we’re looking for enthusiastic, knowledgeable and dedicated English and Maths tutors to join our expanding teaching team.
We are particularly interested in hearing from qualified teachers and experienced tutors who are passionate about making learning accessible, engaging and confidence-building for children and young people.
We’re Currently Recruiting For:
English Tutors – KS2, KS3 and GCSE
Maths Tutors – KS2, KS3 and GCSE
We’re particularly keen to hear from tutors who can support GCSE students, although opportunities are also available across other key stages.
Opportunities may be available at our tuition locations in Portishead, Clevedon, Pill and Weston-super-Mare, depending on demand and timetable availability.
About Our Tuition
At Mr Gillman Tuition, we specialise in providing personalised educational support through small-group and one-to-one tuition.
Our approach goes beyond improving grades. We focus on rebuilding confidence, developing independence and helping young people rediscover their ability to learn.
Our services include:
Small-group tuition, with a maximum of eight students per group.
One-to-one tuition tailored to individual learning needs.
KS2, KS3 and GCSE English and Maths support.
Tuition for children with SEND and additional learning needs.
Support for students experiencing gaps in learning or reduced academic confidence.
Our growing Learning Centre provision.
We pride ourselves on creating welcoming, inclusive environments where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their skills at their own pace.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re keen to hear from tutors who:
Hold relevant teaching qualifications or have substantial experience delivering English or Maths tuition.
Have strong subject knowledge and a sound understanding of the relevant curriculum.
Can plan and deliver engaging, structured and differentiated lessons.
Are confident supporting students with varying abilities and learning needs.
Understand the importance of building positive relationships with young people.
Have experience supporting students with SEND, or a willingness to develop their inclusive practice.
Are reliable, professional and committed to safeguarding children and young people.
Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a supportive teaching team.
Experience preparing students for GCSE examinations would be particularly advantageous.

Join Our Multidisciplinary Assessment Team
Help children be understood before they are judged.
At Mr Gillman Tuition, we believe every child deserves access to the right support, built upon a thorough understanding of their individual strengths, needs and potential. As our organisation continues to grow, we are developing a multidisciplinary assessment team to provide high-quality specialist assessments for children and young people across North Somerset. We are looking to work with experienced professionals who are passionate about improving outcomes for children and families.
We’re currently looking for professionals specialising in:
- ADHD Assessments
- Autism Assessments
- Dyslexia Assessments
- Dyspraxia Assessments
We also welcome conversations with professionals working in Educational Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and other SEND-related disciplines who share our vision.
About the Team
Our aim is to create a trusted assessment service where families can access experienced professionals under one roof. By bringing together specialists from different disciplines, we hope to provide a joined-up approach that helps families gain clarity, understand their child’s needs and access the most appropriate support.
Assessments will sit alongside our existing services, including:
- Small-group tuition
- One-to-one tuition
- The Mr Gillman Tuition Learning Centre
- SEND guidance for families
- Parent education and resources
This enables families to receive ongoing educational support long after the assessment.
